"Banksia Rose" originated in western and central China: Gansu, Henan- Jiangsu, Sichuan, and Yunnan. She was introduced to the West in 1807, named after Dorothea Lady Banks. The Chinese made a liniment for painful, swollen joints with the flowers and serrated leaves. The originals flowered single 5 petal blooms in the wild in China. Modern Lady Eubanksia has double and semi double white or yellow blooms with a light violet fragrance. The blooms are massive on flowing canes 20 feet long, 1.5 cm. Ours are 20-30 feet in height, 15 feet in width,  only due to garden limitations. The largest Banksia rose lives in Tombstone Arizona, over 9000 feet long with a 12 foot inch circumference trunk. This is the largest rose in the world!
