A Rose with a Powerful History

The Peace Rose (Rosa Madame A. Meilland) was created in France between 1935 and 1939 by horticulturist Francis Meilland. Sensing the coming invasion of World War II, Meilland sent cuttings to friends across Europe and the United States in an attempt to save the lineage of this extraordinary rose.

It traveled on what is believed to be the last plane out of France before German occupation. During the war, those nurturing the cuttings could not communicate, so the rose was given many names:This is the energy you receive in this essence:
